Arlo Guthrie Will Make You a Cameo Message for Thanksgiving

Arlo Guthrie has once again agreed to make himself available for special person-to-person greetings this holiday season. He will use Cameo as the platform for the virtual gatherings.“ Hi Folks! It’s getting to be that time of year again. As you are not likely to see me in theaters, Cameo has found a way for me to visit you wherever you are,” he said in a statement on his socials. “And for this Thanksgiving we are taking 20% off the standard rate – Beginning immediately.”

Ever since he released his 1967 epic “Alice’s Restaurant Massacree,” Guthrie has been associated with Thanksgiving. For many years, he celebrated the holiday with a big show at New York’s Carnegie Hall, though the folk singer brought that tradition to a close last year. Like most of the live-music world, Guthrie cancelled most of his 2020 touring plans and, last year, he officially announced that he has retired from touring after suffering “mini-strokes” in 2016.

In a note, Guthrie said, “I’m happy, healthy and good to go, even if I’m not going anywhere. I’ve taken back 6-9 months that I used to spend on the road, and enjoying myself with Marti, my family and friends. In short – Gone Fishing.”

For his personal greetings, Guthrie encourages fans to be “as specific as possible.” The singer/guitarist also recently announced on his website that he plans to marry his girlfriend Marti Ladd this fall.
