Andy Frasco & The U.N. unveiled the latest single from their forthcoming album, Growing Pains, due on May 23, 2025. “Swinging for the Fences” is a unique blend of influences, drawing from Motown and featuring the seductive strut from guests G. Love and Eric Krasno. Together, they support Frasco’s melding of humor and feeling into a digestible love-inspired offering.
“Swinging for the Fences” is a narrative-driven single that finds its footing in a groove-rich bass-line with horns and harmonica accompaniment. This musical backdrop bolsters Frasco’s narrative style, which references the subject’s belief that they can find love, even if the person is out of their league–a baseball motif garnered through cyclical reference.
As is often the case with Frasco’s style, the song amalgamates his positive spirit, introspection, and human desire, hammering home hilarity and heart while leaving the listener feeling uplifted and longing for love.
“I have been a friend and a fan of Andy Frasco for years now,” G. Love says via press release. “Andy’s wildly energetic and outrageous shows always tear the roof off. He’s a tremendous performer, writer, singer, and piano player. I’m really excited about our collaboration, and to have Kraz in the mix is next-level stuff. We really hit a home run with this one.”
“I always have a blast writing and working with Andy,” adds Krasno. “This tune is a really cool blend of Motown and Rock & Roll with Frasco’s unique voice and sound. He’s got a way of combining wit and style with a message that’s totally relatable.”
“Swinging for the Fences” follows the album’s previous singles, “Crazy Things” and “Try Not To Die.” The collection also boasts collaborations with scenesters such as Billy Strings, Steve Polt, and others. Pre-order/save Growing Pains.
