A Taste of Maine Mule

Last night Gov’t Mule kicked off their current tour at Merrill Auditorium in Portland, ME. The evening included the group’s debut of the Warren Haynes composition “If Heartaches Were Nickels,” which appears on Joe Bonamassa’s 2000 album A New Day Yesterday (and which Haynes guested on during one of Bonamassa’s Beacon Theatre shows earlier this month). The night also included a tease-heavy version of “Kind Of Bird,” which referenced “Les Brers In A Minor,” “Happy Together” and “The Wind Cries Mary.” Both of these are currently streaming on the site as today’s installment in our Relix Live Fridays series.
In related news, yesterday we posted a solo acoustic performance by Warren Haynes sharing “Railroad Boy” backstage at the Hangout Music Festival.
