Sacred Rose Festival to Issue Refunds After Scrapped Sunday Shows

After some chagrin, Sacred Rose festival shared an official statement on social media laying out the process to receive refunds for the final day of their gathering last weekend after inclement weather looming near SeatGeek Stadium forced them to cancel most of Sunday’s performances. Following lightning strikes near the venue and high wind speeds, the inaugural festival, outside Chicago in Bridgeview, Ill., delayed shows and had attendees evacuate the venue multiple times; coveted performances, including sets by headliners Joe Russo’s Almost Dead and Khruangbin, were scrapped completely.

“We know we went a bit dark after being so active with our communication leading into the event, so we thank you for your patience,” the festival wrote. “We wanted to wait until we had something concrete & meaningful to offer the #RoseFam to help soften the blow of us all missing the highly anticipated Sunday headliners.”

Further along in the statement, Sacred Rose explained that from Sept. 5 through Sept. 12, attendees can request a refund for the base price of a Sunday pass or the proportionate one-third of the base ticket price of a 3-Day Pass and that payments will process within 30 days or less from the Sept. 12. Fans have to visit the festival’s website and then access their Front Gate Tickets account. From there, they can view their order history with the “Your Account” tab, then view their “Order Detail,” and finally hit “Request Refund.”

The festival took the time also to address and apologize once again for a system error that led to fans being overcharged by hundreds and, at times, thousands of dollars in false fees on their credit cards after the SeatGeek Stadium had a “configuration error” that led to local TV coverage and discourse across the internet.

“We also want to apologize to those affected by the stadium’s credit card system,” the festival added. “Although it was out of our control, we did everything in our power to quickly work with the stadium to make sure those transactions/holds were reversed.”

They closed their multi-slide statement by writing, “Despite any challenges, there were countless moments of magic that we’re psyched to start sharing shortly now that the details of refunds are available. Thank you so much for joining us, the continued support, and positive messages/comments. It means the world to us.”
