May 13, 2016

Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival has announced the lineup for this year’s SuperJam, which is dubbed “Heart, Soul & Spirit: A Tribute to Tennesee” and will be lead by jazz master and saxophonist Kamasi Washington.

Washington, who released his own album, The Epic, last year while also helping out on Kendrick Lamar’s opus To Pimp A Butterfly, will be heading up a SuperJam lineup that will also feature Miguel (who co-led his own superjam at this year’s inaugural Okeechobee Fest), GRiZ, Devonté Hynes, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Eric Krasno & The Shady Horns, Allen Stone, Vulfpeck, The Internet, Chicano Batman and Lizzo, with more additions to be announced.

“I’m so excited and honored to lead this year’s SuperJam,” says Washington. “Such a cool experience to collaborate with all of these amazing artists in celebration of some of the greatest music legends from Tennessee, at one of the coolest festivals in the country – it’s going to be a crazy party!”

The Tennessee-themed SuperJam, which will take place late-night on Saturday, June 11, is part of Bonnaroo’s 15th anniversary celebration.

The festival has also announced the full lineup for its annual Bluegrass Situation SuperJam, hosted by Ed Helms and The Watkins Family Hour House Band featuring Sara and Sean Watkins. They will be joined by Lee Ann Womack, Buddy Miller, Amanda Shires, The Secret Sisters, The Wood Brothers, Steep Canyon Rangers, Sam Bush Band and more.

Bonnaroo returns to Manchester, TN, on June 9–12. More information is available here.
