Video Premiere: DJ Williams Honors Female Power and Strength in “Gimmie A Minute”

DJ Williams – known for his work in Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe as well as his own Shots Fired Band – has shared a brand new music video for his track “Gimmie A Minute,” mixing his love for ’80s rock with his admiration for female strength and anime.

“‘Gimme A Minute’ was a tune that was very much inspired by one of my favorite bands, The Police,” Williams tells Relix. “I love the drive on this tune and the melodic chorus. This was one of the first tracks we recorded at Color Red in Denver with Kowan Turner and Dan Africano (Ghost Light) holding down the rhythm section, Joe Tatton (New Mastersounds) really shines on organ, and I’m a little more in the back seat on this one on guitar.”

Adds director Eric Imbrosciano, “DJ’s songwriting although instrumental tells a story on its own. I listen and think of a very loose idea and then find the right animation that fits my idea. I then chop the videos similar to how I chop up beats in Ableton in order to fit somewhat the form and feel of the song.”
