On Thursday, June 5, the Pedrito Martinez Group marked their album release at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl, celebrating the arrival of Ilusión Óptica, which officially arrived on streaming sites on May 30, 2025. The concert featured an appearance by LP contributor, known for his Blood Brothers/ Jimmy Vivino musical connection, Bill Murray.
Murray’s arrival coincided with his inclusion on the new record. He helped out on the set’s opening number, “Filosofando En Clave,” along with fellow contributors Cimafunk and Wampi. His other album role was on the track “Ayuda” with Andy Garcia, making his inclusion during the night’s celebration a sensible feature.
Notably, Murray’s appearance during last night’s Brooklyn Bowl concert comes before his June touring regimen, which rolls out over two nights, June 6 at Knuckleheads in Kansas City, Mo., and June 8 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colo. Tickets.
During the Thursday night gig, Ken Spielman was on location and shared choice shots from the event.
