On Sunday, Dec. 8, Allman Betts Family Revival pulled into The Paramount in Huntington, N.Y., in continuation of the lauded pre-Christmas tradition of rounding up music’s brights and best for concerts that celebrate the music of The Allman Brothers Band—hosted by second generation Southern-rock stalwarts, Duane Betts and Devon Allman, sons of Dickey Betts and Duane Allman, respectively.

The current tour features a rotating lineup of musicians, representing top players from the Americana and rock canons, including G Love, Anders Osborne, Jackie Greene, Jimmy Hall, Robert Randolph, Sierra Green, Sierra Hull, Lamar Williams Jr., Andy Aledort and Larry McCray–taking on classics ranging from “Statesboro Blues,” “Blue Sky,” “Melissa,” “Dreams,” “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed” and more.

The stacked night featured an array of collaborations, including Williams Jr. and Randolph’s arrival on “Trouble No More,” Osborne and Lindsay Lou’s accompaniment on “Southbound,” in addition to stunning moments presented during “One Way Out” from G Love and Hull. Also sparking a noteworthy play, the Swedish-born New Orleans-resident Osborne’s assistance on the Dickey Betts scribed “Ramblin’ Man.”

As the evening’s ultimate highpoint, all participants took the stage for the final song of the night, “Midnight Rider.” Notably, the eighth annual Allman Betts Family Revival arrives after the passing of original member Dickey Betts in April 2024. In the months leading to the current tour, admirers offered tributes, which have continued as a poignant theme during the current run by revisiting the guitarist’s ABB contributions.

Allman Betts Family Revival will continue its tour tonight with a stop at The Charleston Gaillard Center in Charleston, S.C. Tickets remain on sale.
