With the NBA schedule officially released last night, those of you looking for clues as to where Phish will ring in the new year can begin piecing together the available venues across the country and eliminating those that’ll be filled by their local basketball team. 

Among those you can more than likely count on not happening: Miami. 

The hometown Heat will be home against the Brooklyn Nets on Friday, December 29 which isn’t conducive to a four-night New Year’s run, particularly with the fact that the holiday fits perfectly over the course of a weekend. 

As for those looking at another return to Madison Square Garden, the Knicks will be on the road for the end of December following a Christmas Day game against Philadelphia. Meanwhile, out west, the Los Angeles Lakers will also be home at Staples Center on December 29, while the nearby Forum is available. 

Let’s rearrange the odds to reflect the NBA schedule, with another New Year’s at The Garden turning into an overwhelming favorite.
