Watch: Ryan Adams Covers Foo Fighters in Sydney

Even though Ryan Adams and his new band The Shining are tearing through every stage they grace, Adams’ solo shows seem to be producing just as many gems worthy of your attention. Last night at the beautiful Sydney Opera House in Australia, Adams once again delivered a 22-song set compiled of some choice solo material including Whiskeytown tunes, rare Cardinals cuts and this special nugget at the end of the set–a cover of Foo Fighters’ “Times Like These.”

Before the song, Adams doesn’t mention Grohl by name, but dedicates the song to the frontman for being “able to continue doing what he loved even though he was totally broken,” referencing Grohl’s broken leg. He intro’d the song by saying, “this is for that bastard.” Watch the performance below as well as a take on the song Adams did with his band the Cardinals during a past session at BBC Radio.
