Bob Weir’s stop in Los Angeles last night turned into way more than a campfire singalong as the guitarist brought out The National’s Matt Berninger and Dead & Co. mate “Johnboy Mayer” for a series of tunes to close out the show. 

Among them, Mayer joining in for an expansive “Jack Straw” before both Berninger and Mayer helped Weir and the Blue Mountain band out on “Morning Dew” (Berninger sang lead on the tune for the Dessners’ Day of the Dead compilation) and “I Know You Rider” before taking a lighter turn with acoustic renditions of “Peggy-O” (a song The National covers regularly) and a “Ripple” finale.
