Watch: Foo Fighters and Gary Clark Jr. Team Up on _Austin City Limits_
The 40th season of Austin City Limits has been a roaring success, with sets from the likes of Nine Inch Nails, Ryan Adams, The Black Keys and more. Last night, Foo Fighters hit the stage to preview some material from their at-the-time forthcoming record Sonic Highways as well as older material. Tunes included “Times Like These,” “The Feast and the Famine,” “Rope,” “Congregation,” “I’ll Stick Around,” “Walk” and a closing “Best of You,” among others.
The highlight of the broadcast however came with a pair of guest appearances, first from Gary Clark Jr. on the new track “What Did I Do?/God As My Witness.” The Austin-based blues guitarist played on the original studio recording and was also a focal point of the Sonic Highways episode based around his hometown. Jimmie Vaughan joined the fold shortly after the anthemic performance for a take on The Fabulous Thunderbirds’ single “Tuff Enuff.” Vaughan was also a regular in the Sonic Highways series, making appearances in the Chicago and Austin episodes, among others.
