Watch Dan Auerbach Bring the Easy Eye Sound Revue Tour to NPR’s Tiny Desk

April 4, 2018

Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach, who is currently in the midst of his Easy Eye Sound Revue Tour with members of his record label Robert Finley and Shannon & the Clams, stopped by NPR’s offices to record a new Tiny Desk Concert that saw Auerbach offer a pared-down version of his expansive Revue show.

Auerbach played a few tunes from his 2017 solo album Waiting On a Song—the title track, “Never In My Wildest Dreams” and single “Shine On Me”—with an impressive trio of backing musicians, including Pat McLaughlin (who was shouted out by John Prine in another recent Tiny Desk performance) on mandolin, Dante Schwebel on acoustic guitar and Russ Pahl on resonator guitar.

Auerbach also welcomed his tour mate and Easy Eye Sound protege Robert Finley—a soulful, 65-year-old, legally blind blues singer—for “Get It While You Can,” a track off Finley’s Easy Eye record Goin’ Platinum!, which was released this past December.
