As far as Prince covers go, this may be one of the best you’ve ever heard as Chris Cornell offers up his version of “Nothing Compares 2 U,” backed by a few accompanying instruments. The incredibly gorgeous and powerful rendition comes as a part of a special sit down with Cornell, who will talk to David Fricke about a variety of topics on SiriusXM’s Lithium set to air September 23-25 at various times. 

On his latest solo tour supporting Higher Truth, Cornell has been mixing in an eclectic group of covers including tunes from his projects, Soundgarden, Audioslave and Temple of the Dog as well as various Bob Dylan songs, John Lennon, U2 (“One” played with the lyrics to Metallica’s song of the same name), Led Zeppelin and many others.
