Watch: Butch Walker Lifts Curtain on _Afraid of Ghosts_ with Ryan Adams, Johnny Depp and Bob Mould
One of the most pleasant surprises thus far in 2015 is Butch Walker’s raw, emotional latest album Afraid of Ghosts, inspired by the passing of his father. Walker holed up with Ryan Adams at his Pax-Am Studio in Los Angeles along with a slew of special guests including Johnny Depp and Bob Mould.
“Ryan was just the amount of crazy to want to produce a producer,” Walker says in this Noah Abrams-directed short film about the recording process. One of the highlights is the appearance of Depp, who Adams described as his buddy “J-Dizzle.” Unbeknownst to Walker, Johnny Depp walked in and delivered a solo on one of the album’s standouts, “21+.”
