Watch: Bobby Keys Jams with Weir, Anastasio, Haynes, Grace Potter and The Roots

Today the news came down that Bobby Keys, longtime saxophonist for the Rolling Stones, passed away at the age of 70. Keys had been battling cirrhosis and psses way at his home in Franklin, TN early this morning. His relationship with the Rolling Stones spanned 50 years, first meeting them in 1964. Keys added his horn to classic Stones records like Let it Bleed, Stick Fingers, Exile on Main Street and more. He recently took a medical leave before the band’s Australia/New Zealand tour, where Karl Denson filled in.

In 2012, Keys joined an all-star ensemble at the Capitol Theatre for a one-night-only collaboration featuring the likes of Bob Weir, Trey Anastasio, The Roots, Grace Potter and Warren Haynes.
