Death Cab for Cutie’s slow, methodical comeback following the departure of Chris Walla is all but complete as the band gears up for the release of Kintsugi, their latest on March 31. After a pair of intimate shows in their hometown of Seattle and Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg, the band took to the national stage to debut their new song, “Black Sun” and new lineup featuring Dave Depper and Zac Rae.
Frontman Ben Gibbard sat down with SiriusXM to offer up a solo rendition of the song, making it even more stunning and haunting than it already is with the full band. Replay the performance below.
