Watch St. Paul & The Broken Bones Play “Zat You, Santa Claus?” on ‘The Late Show’

St. Paul & The Broken Bones recently wrapped up their touring schedule for 2018, and the horn-fueled modern-soul group took a break from supporting their latest release, this year’s Young Sick Camellia, to spread some holiday cheer with a special performance of Louis Armstrong’s “Zat You, Santa Claus?” on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
St. Paul recently recorded a studio version of Armstrong’s jazzy Christmas number for Amazon Music, and the group dressed appropriately for their late-night TV performance, with frontman Paul Janeway donning a full elf costume for the occasion. Coupled with the Broken Bones signature swagger, plus some well-timed snowfall in the Late Show studio Janeway’s guttural interpretation of Armstrong’s lyrics made for a powerful holiday offering, as the singer made his way into the audience to sing to some fans directly.
Watch below. St. Paul & The Broken Bones get back on the road next month with an LA show on January 25. See their full schedule here.
