Video Premiere: Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds “Sugar”

June 5, 2015

As we first noted in Relix, “Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds perfect their take on soul revivalism with their newest release, The Weather Below.” The album was produced by Ryan Hadlock (The Lumineers, Vance Joy) and the first single, “Sugar,” is making the rounds on the charts. Today we premiere the official video for “Sugar.”  Sister Sparrow herself, Arleigh Kincheloe, tells Relix, “I wrote “Sugar” about a first kiss. The whole inspiration for the song and the video comes from that crazy-excited feeling you get when you’re about to kiss someone for the first time. I really wanted to capture that vibe and convey the playfulness of the song with this video. Coney Island was a perfect fit for the summertime feel of the song, and we honestly had so much fun shooting there.” The Weather Below is now available on iTunes and other outlets.
