Video Premiere: Roosevelt Collier Band at Montreux Jazz Club

July 27, 2018

Pedal steel guitar master Roosevelt Collier made his debut at the iconic Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland last month, after which Collier and his quartet were invited by legendary producer and Montreux Jazz Festival staple Quincy Jones to play a private show on the balcony of Montreux Jazz Club. Today, we premiere the video of that intimate performance.

Collier is joined by Rodrigo Zambrano on bass, Jason Matthews on keyboards and Armando Lopez on drums, with the quartet coming together for a short set of tunes featuring Collier’s signature blend of soul, funk and jazz, including a cover of Gnarls Barkley’s hit “Crazy” and ending with Collier’s own “Spike,” off his recent album Exit 16
