Last year Dave Alvin and Phil Alvin teamed up for Common Ground, their first album since Dave left their band The Blasters back in 1986. Yep Roc Records has just released Lost Time, the Alvins’ follow-up to the Grammy-nominated Common Ground. The pair are currently on tour in support of the record.

Today we premiere the official video for “World’s In A Bad Condition” off their new record. Dave Alvin tells Relix, “‘World’s In A Bad Condition’ is an old song originally recorded (as far as we know) in the late 30s by the magnificent gospel singers, The Golden Gate Quartet. Phil and I first heard their recording on the flip side of a 78 by bluesman Tampa Red we’d found in a junk store when we were teenagers. It’s been a favorite of us ever since then.”
