Umphrey’s McGee Share First Look at “Reel to Real” Documentary

Umphrey’s McGee will present their “Reel to Real” documentary on New Year’s Day, pulled from both on and off-stage footage from the band’s travels over the years. It’s sure to be one of the most intimate looks at the South Bend rockers, spliced with present-day interviews with the members of the band.

The trailer is now released, and it contains all of the shenanigans that you’d expect come with being on the road with a rock band. Plenty of beer-soaked evenings, slap bets, pranks and the like. All in all, looks like a fun time.

I spoke to Joel Cummins about what fans can expect on New Year’s Day. He chose to reflect more on his own starring role in the film, saying, “Personally, I just literally did not give a fuck about how I looked, what I was doing. I mean, it’s so funny looking back. Not a lot of good decisions on attire, various comments to the camera. I think I pretty much look like a huge asshole. A lot of people might say, ‘What’s changed?'”

Watch the trailer below.

Hang on tight. #ReelToReal debuts January 1st at The Fillmore Auditorium.
