The Flaming Lips (and Chewbacca) Cover Bowie on ‘Colbert’

Few have honored the late, great David Bowie quite as extensively as The Flaming Lips have, as the Oklahoma rockers took part in the tribute shows in New York City, released a video of their cover of “Space Oddity” and then did this last night, as they visited Late Show with Stephen Colbert to perform the song.
As you’d expect, the performance is full of odd visuals that may or may not fit together, but who cares. Chewbacca makes an appearance, everything on Wayne Coyne lights up and flashes. As Colbert says in his introduction, “my next guests dropped from space, or Oklahoma.” Same thing.
