The Crying Foo Fighters Fan Shares the Reason Behind the Tears

Earlier this week we told you about a Foo Fighters fan in Colorado who got a touch emotional during a performance of “My Hero.” So emotional, in fact, that Dave Grohl called him up on stage to sing the song with him. Anthony is his name, and now Anthony has told his story.

According to UPROXX, Anthony took some time to talk to local radio station KBCO to recount the tale. He said the emotions came from having lost his mom just six months ago, and he wasn’t drunk. In fact, he doesn’t drink, although he may have had some Colorado green. After the tune, he said he explained the situation to Grohl. “What a cool man he was. Just a super cool dude.” Read more from Anthony below.

“My mom died about six months ago, and I’d just got back from Europe putting her in her crypt, and he just started singing it and I just got all emo. What I hated is he was like, “Oh he’s a drunk guy.” I was dead sober. I don’t drink. You know, I might have had a little Colorado green, but I don’t drink.”
