On November 20 Legacy Recordings will release Weather Report: The Legendary Live Tapes: 1978-1981. The four disc boxed set presents unreleased live performances from the classic lineup of the groundbreaking electronic jazz-rock-funk ensemble: Joe Zawinul (keyboards), Wayne Shorter (saxophone), Jaco Pastorius (electric bass), Peter Erskine (drums) and Robert Thomas, Jr. (Hand Drums). The material on Weather Report: The Legendary Live Tapes: 1978-1981 was selected by Peter Erskine and Tony Zawinul (son of the late Joe Zawinul, co-founder of The Weather Report Legacy Project and director of This Is This, a Weather Report documentary film currently in production).
