In January, the Band of Heathens will release the follow-up to this year’s Green Grass EP.  This will be the fifth studio long-player from the Austin quintet, which is now celebrating their tenth anniversary and continue to gain support for their winning amalgam of blues, rock and soul. Today we premiere “Trouble Came Early” from the forthcoming record.

The group tells Relix,” The idea for ‘Trouble Came Early’ came about from reading A
History of the World in 6 Glasses by Tom Standage, after a strange
night out we had in a bar after a show. Some guy who was blacked-out
drunk ended up pulling a knife and coming after us. Fortunately
everybody made it out alive, and a seed was planted for the classic
character who can’t escape the call of the bars. Recorded live in the
studio after a couple months on the road, we were able to capture the
sound of the band coming properly unhinged by the end of the jam“

The Band of Heathens opens their latest tour this Thursday, November 10 in Tallahassee, with their upcoming dates listed below the stream.
