Josh Rouse’s next album, The Embers of Time, is due out on April 7 via Yep Roc. Many of the songs on the new record are a product of the Gestalt Therapy that Rouse initiated during the recording and writing process. Today we premiere “Time” from the forthcoming record, which reflects on mortality, which is one of the themes on the new record. Rouse explains, “This was one of the first ones I did for the record, it just kind of came out and wrote itself and felt kind of classic when I played it. The song touches a bit on my step father – he died at a really young age and as I become older and became a father I think about that a lot. It’s about living a very long life taking advantage of our time here.”
