Song Premiere: Gov’t Mule “Let Down” (from _Dub Side of The Mule_)

March 19, 2015

As Gov’t Mule celebrates its 20th anniversary, the group is releasing a series of archival live albums (we explore these topics in our feature article, “Gov’t Mule’s Side Ways”). Next up is Dub Side of the Mule which is due out on April 7. Recorded during the group’s 2006 New Year’s Eve show, Dub Side of the Mule features three hours of music including an hour set with Toots and Maytals’ founder Toots Hibbert, which includes such songs as “Pressure Drop,” “54-46 Was My Number,” “Reggae Got Soul,” and a version of Radiohead’s “Let Down,” which we premiere today. Warren Haynes tells Relix, “We are honored to finally be releasing these recordings from 2006. It was a memorable night of music and our first time performing together with Toots. Brings back great memories.” Dub Side of the Mule is currently available for pre-order.
