Video Premiere: Attica Riots “Misery”

March 28, 2016

Winnipeg’s Attica Riots will release their debut album this summer. Mark Needham (American Authors, Imagine Dragons, The Killers) produced Love Sunshine & Hysteria for the group which features brothers Anders and Kyle Erickson, on drums and lead guitar, respectively, along with lead vocalist Bobby Desjarlais. Attica Riots emerged from the Ericksons’ previous band Inward Eye, which toured with The Who and performed at the closing ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics. The new group developed following a series of low-key gigs playing indie rock covers but became a more serious endeavor as the band settled down and began developing their own original tunes, which delve into dance, punk and pop from a garage rock base. Today we premiere the official video for “Misery.” Kyle Erickson explains that the song “came about with me messing around on Garage Band on my laptop. I took the drum loop and played riffs over top. I recorded it six times before we settled on the right one.”
