Somehow ‘The People vs. OJ Simpson’ Predicted Phish’s 2011 MSG New Year’s Run
If you’re up on The People Vs. OJ Simpson, the first (and hopefully not last) installment of FX’s new American Crime Story series, you probably noticed something suspicious in the background of last night’s episode. No, your eyes weren’t deceiving you, that was in fact a Phish poster from the band’s 2011 New Year’s run at Madison Square Garden.
Obviously a blooper that only a select bunch would recognize, the poster definitely doesn’t belong in this show, set during the OJ Simpson trial in 1994-95. Nonetheless, there it is in all of its foreshadowing glory, 17 years and two hiatuses before its time.
Hmm.. Supposed to be 1994, but I see a 2011 MSG Phish poster! #phish #yemsg #weareeverywhere pic.twitter.com/j8ZDcvRe3V
