Royal Blood Members Crowdsurf to the Stage During Queens of the Stone Age’s “Go With the Flow”
Queens of the Stone Age and Royal Blood’s joint tour across the country was as representative of rock’s present and future as you could possibly get. Queens, fresh off of their stellar new LP Villains and a massive tour, shepherded the young Brit rockers (who also released a fantastic new album How Did We Get So Dark?) around on a run that saw them play both theatres and arenas.
So at the U.S. finale (they’ll pick up their run together on the road in 2018), it was only fitting that the pairing landed at Madison Square Garden and had some fun in the process.
For Queens’ finale of “Go with the Flow,” both Ben Thatcher and Mike Kerr crowdsurfed from the back of the venue to the front of the stage before joining their tourmates for a final bow. “Bring the bass player on stage,” Josh Homme joked as Kerr struggled to get free of the crowd.
Everyone eventually ended up together and we got to see just how towering of a presence Homme is, towering over the shorter Thatcher as the the two embraced.
