Relix Celebrates 50 Years of New Orleans Music and Culture at NOLA Jazz Museum (A Gallery)

Relix recently brought a new exhibit to the New Orleans Jazz Museum, featuring artwork, photos and more from last five decades of Jazz Fest as part of our 50 Years of New Orleans Music & Culture celebration, which was punctuated last week with three consecutive days of conversations featuring Preservation Hall Jazz Band’s Ben Jaffe, writer/historian Walter Isaacson, pianist Jon Cleary, The Meters bassist George Porter Jr. and Galactic drummer Stanton Moore, plus a performance from Cha Wa.

The sound experience for Relix Celebrates 50 Years of New Orleans Music & Culture is powered by Meyer Sound, and special thanks to our framing and printing partner, Level Frames. Smithsonian Folkways Recordings is providing their box set “Jazz Fest: The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival” as the official soundtrack of the exhibit (the box set comes out May 10). For the events last week, specialty New Orleans cocktails were provided by Slow & Low, with beer from Port Orleans Brewing.

Photographers Marc Millman and Curtis Knapp shared some scenes from the events and exhibit, which runs at the Jazz Museum until the end of this month.
