Premiere: Steve Kimock Shares “Waiting for A Miracle”

October 12, 2017

Satellite City, the new album from Steve Kimock’s quartet KIMOCK is set for release on October 28. Dave Schools produced the album, which features the guitarist along with Bobby Vega on bass, John Morgan Kimock on drums and Leslie Mendelson on keys and vocals.

When asked what was special about this recording, Kimock explains, “A balance of diverse influences. You’d think that’d be a reasonable description of a lot of bands, but it doesn’t always come out that way in the mix, literally or figuratively. In this case it actually worked. The integration of the writing, singing, playing, and production is a whole greater than the sum of its parts. The coolest thing from my perspective as ‘one part’ was not being able to see that big picture until now. Love, family, hard work, faith, trust, serendipity, all that stuff adds up to ‘special’ for me and all that same stuff made this record. Forgiveness too. Enjoy it in that spirit.”

Today we premiere the version of Bruce Cockburn’s “Waiting for a Miracle” from the record, a song that Jerry Garcia helped to popularize. Mendelson sings lead on this track from Satellite City, which is now available for pre-order on CD/Vinyl and digital formats.
