Pearl Jam Takes the Stage on _Fallon_
Pearl Jam Week on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon continued last night as the band of the week took the stage for the first of two performances. For Thursday’s show, Pearl Jam opted for “Sirens” from their latest studio offering Lightning Bolt. Recently topping the charts, making it the band’s fifth studio album to debut at number one, Lightning Bolt sold over 166,000 copies in its first week. Eddie Vedder croons his way through the emotional “Sirens” as Mike McCready solos on a clearly made-for-television guitar. Pearl Jam will return tonight to properly cap off Pearl Jam Week.
Be sure to check out “Sirens” below as well as the other performances which included The Avett Brothers and Chris Cornell playing “Footsteps,” from PJ’s 2003 Lost Dogs compilation. Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold took the stage with some help to cover “Corduroy” and country singer Dierks Bentley played a fairly underwhelming version of the anthemic “Alive” with the help of Mike McCready and The Roots.
