Paul McCartney in Times Square (A Gallery)

October 10, 2013

Paul McCartney surprised Times Square-goers today when he performed a quick four-song set from the side of an open semi-truck. Although McCartney stuck to new material from his upcoming October 15 release, NEW, the crowd, that continued to grow as the music played, certainly didn’t seem to mind. “I should probably put a hat out somewhere, because we’re basically busking here,” Sir Paul said at one point during the set, remarking on the impromptu nature of the show.

McCartney and his band rolled through cuts like “New,” “Everybody Out There,” “Save Us” and “Queenie Eye.” Check out some photos from the show courtesy of Brian Stollery as well as a video of McCartney performing “Everybody Out There.”
