Mike McCready and Gary Clark Jr. Played with Dave Matthews Band Four Years Ago Today

September 7, 2017

Four years ago today, Dave Matthews Band played a certified king whopper of a show in Irvine, CA as their summer tour was winding to an end. Not only did they bring out opener Gary Clark Jr. but also jammed with Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready as well as Bob Mintzer and friend of the band Lasim Richards.

Along with the guests, where McCready ripped up “Rhyme & Reason” for his first ever DMB appearance and Clark reprised his bluesy take on “All Along the Watchtower,” the band was also in fine form with classics like “The Stone,” “Granny” early on and the super rarity “#34” as well as an encore that included heavy-hitters “Ants Marching” and “Halloween.”

Watch both guest appearances below in honor of the anniversary of the show.
