Listen: Foo Fighters Talk Prince, Almost Recording with David Bowie and More on Howard Stern
As the Foo Fighters landed in New York to promote their final episode of Sonic Highways, the band took some time to visit Howard Stern for an hour and talk about all of the things they wouldn’t talk about on Ellen or any other show. Among the topics discussed were the band’s impression of Prince’s take on “Best of You” during his famed Super Bowl halftime show. Dave Grohl also dished on jamming on “Whole Lotta Love” with Prince during a rehearsal at The Forum in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, that performance never made it to the real stage.
Dave Grohl also revealed that he almost collaborated with David Bowie for a song for a movie, but it fell through. Grohl also touched on smoking pot, saying that he smoked and watched Keeping Up with the Kardashians before deciding that the terror of that experience forced him to stick exclusively to whiskey and red wine.
The band also performed “Learn to Fly” and “Something From Nothing.” Listen to the entire hour-long segment below.
