Let Us Never Forget That Merle Haggard’s Twitter Account is Gold
Country music legend Merle Haggard sadly passed away today, presumably after a battle with double pneumonia. Haggard influenced nearly everyone who has picked up an acoustic guitar in the last 30 years and spent most of his life sharing his music with the world.
While it’s natural to be sad about Haggard’s passing, it’s also important to remember that the man had one hell of a sense of humor and showed it through his Twitter account. Often shouting out everyone to “follow the Hag” on Snapchat or Instagram, the country legend had a healthy retweet habit and often posted for pictures in sweatshirts like the one above.
Let’s revisit some of his best moments on his timeline.
First off, there is the wake up call he lefted for Sturgill Simpson.

Then there are a pair of retweets from The Rock, who is apparently a huge Merle Haggard fan

And, of course, this gem that will live in internet lore forever. Tell ’em how you really feel, Merle.
