Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and The Mike Dillon Band brought their brands of funk and jazz to the 8×10 on Thursday. Mike Dillon kicked the night off with his off-beat, dissonant sounds, featuring spunky trombone player Carly Meyers. Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe played a two-hour funky marathon of a set, playing songs from their forthcoming album, New Ammo, along with a mix of songs spanning the KDTU catalog.
