John Mayer, Ryan Adams and Jason Isbell All Recommend You Listen to the New Paramore Album
Paramore have always existed somewhere in the festival scene as that easily accessible “punky” pop outfit but after some band turmoil the group returns with a decidedly different record in After Laughter and its garnering some big time reviews on Twitter from John Mayer, Ryan Adams and Jason Isbell, three guys who know a thing or two about songwriting.
Here’s where I’m getting at… this @paramore album is great. Their fans know it. But every fan of pop music needs to check it out. 3/3

It’s SO good, right. They’re in their own 80’s time portal https://t.co/oX802OIMel

I too recommend this album https://t.co/10uQ0coxL1

The album, which arrived earlier this month, is being compared to many of the great new wave bands of the 80s including Talking Heads and Blondie for very good reason. While Paramore has been known for more angsty pop/punk rock, they traded that style in for a record that could soundtrack one of those cheesy 80s sitcoms but in the best way.
You’ve probably heard the single and lead track “Hard Times” somewhere along the way but the rest of the record is just as smooth. Adams is correct, it’s like they tapped into a crazy time portal that shot them to Malibu in 1987.
If you respect the recommendation from these three gentlemen, then give Paramore’s latest a listen below.
