John Mayer Releases Statement Following Appendectomy: “This band and these shows mean the world to me”
After statements from various representatives and elsewhere, John Mayer finally resurfaced on Twitter following his emergency appendectomy with a tweet thanking those who wished him well.
“Had surgery yesterday and woke up to see some amazingly kind and loving tweets,” Mayer said. The guitarist was rushed to the hospital Tuesday morning for an emergency appendectomy that resulted in the postponement of the remainder of Dead & Company’s fall tour, including stops in New Orleans, Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale.
“I’m so sorry we couldn’t finish out the last few dates of the tour. This band and these shows mean the world to me,” he concluded. Read the full message below.
