John Mayer seems to be enjoying himself on Dead & Company tour as he gets acclimated in his new role as guitarist alongside Weir, Kreutzmann, Hart, Burbridge and Chimenti. We’ve heard a little bit from Mayer but haven’t heard much recently, until today. The guitarist posted a lengthy and heartfelt message to the fans as the tour is now a few shows old. 

“Thank you for accepting me,” Mayer said via his Facebook page. “Thank you for letting me help take you to *that place*.” He added, “Every time someone comes up to me and mentions having seen one (or more) of these shows, the question in my mind is never ‘how was I?’ but ‘how were you?’ Because I’m only here, with my five brothers-in-arms, to take you ‘there.'”
