After jumping on stage with The Roots, John Mayer had himself quite the night in New York City as he hit the tiny stage at the Comedy Cellar to jam with legendary comedians like Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock and Aziz Ansari.

As BrooklynVegan reports, Chappelle and Rock hit the stage for a stand-up set together when Ansari jumped on stage during their set to share in some jokes. Mayer, who apparently ran “several blocks” to go grab his guitar, hopped on stage along with Cory Henry on piano to make it a musical comedy session. The comedic jam session lasted quite a while as the fortunate crowd looked on. Chappelle reportedly accurately stated, “Cool shit just happens when I’m around.” It appears that is the case.

Earlier in the night, Mayer hit the stage with The Roots for a mini-set of his own material as well as this cover of “Ain’t No Sunshine.” Watch below.
