Here’s Some of Arcade Fire’s Best Covers From Their _Reflektor_ Tour

Earlier this morning, Arcade Fire graciously announced their triumphant return to the road with a string of festival appearances in Europe, marking their first shows since the Reflektor tour finale in 2014.

Speaking of the Reflektor tour, what a ride that was. From the stupid backlash at the dress code to the intimate club shows, massive festival gigs and subsequent U.S. arena tour, Arcade Fire felt like they hit their peak during that era, and nothing is more evident of that than the fun they had in the encore of each city along the way, where they offered up a geographically appropriate cover. One of the most impressive things about Arcade Fire is that each member comes from a very different musical background, and that showed in their cover choices.

Tunes ranged from Stevie Wonder, R.E.M. and Jane’s Addiction to Prince, Dead Kennedys, Devo, Kansas, Boyz II Men and many more. The encore cover was the perfect complement to the already solid batch of original material the band put out on that evening, and here are five great ones to get you back into the Arcade Fire groove.

“Hot Hot Hot” | Buster Poindexter

“I’ll Believe in Anything” | Wolf Parade

“Dream Baby Dream” | Suicide

“Motownphilly” | Boyz II Men

“Waiting Room” | Fugazi
