Gov’t Mule Kick Off New Year’s Run at the Beacon (A Gallery)

Gov’t Mule kicked off their New Year’s run last night at the Beacon Theatre with a show that featured a variety of special guest drummers and singer. While tonight’s show will star singer Myles Kennedy and Mule doing AC/DC, last night was devoted to guest spots from Free/Bad Company drummer Simon Kirke, who sat in on Free’s “Mr. Big” and “The Hunter.” During the encore, legendary rock drummer Carmine Appice sat in for a pair of Rod Stewart tunes in “Hot Legs” as well as “Stay With Me.” Dino Perrucci shared some images from the show.
