Governors Ball isn’t until June, and New York’s newest festival darling, Panorama, isn’t until July, but these two NYC heavyweights plan on bludgeoning each other to death over the next few months in the eternal fight for New York Music Festival supremacy. 

It all started yesterday when Panorama released their top-heavy lineup much to the approval of those who enjoy LCD Soundsystem, Kendrick Lamar and Arcade Fire. The official Governors Ball Twitter account fired the first shot with a “panorama” shot of their own festival. 

The backstory can be found here, as Stereogum wrote a great thing about the ongoing battle between the two festivals that will take place on the same grounds in the next few months. Until then, let us just enjoy the social media battle that is surely to unfold.
