Get a Taste of Rami Malek’s Incredible Freddie Mercury in the First Trailer for _Bohemian Rhapsody_

May 15, 2018

The long-awaited Queen biopic will finally come to theaters this fall after years of strife and controversy—including Sacha Baron Cohen’s departure after a disagreement with guitarist Brian May—and the film’s first trailer dropped today, giving us a teasing glimpse of what looks to be a helluva ride, starring Mr. Robot actor Rami Malek as an incredibly spot-on Freddie Mercury.

The short trailer for Bohemian Rhapsody offers shots of the many faces of Mercury, on stage, in the studio and even giving shit to what looks to be a stodgy label exec. The whole thing is set to a background mashup of Queen classics like “Another One Bites the Dust,” “We Will Rock You” and the film’s namesake mega-hit, which pauses when Brian May (played by Gwilym Lee) gives Mercury a questioning glance as the singer explains the song’s now-iconic “operatic section.”

It’s a small sample size for sure, but damn if this doesn’t look fun. Bohemian Rhapsody is set for release on November 2.
