Father John Misty Talks Truth on Leon Bridges, Covers U2’s “Beautiful Day” on Bongos
Father John Misty is always good for a social media quote and/or clip and here we have one of each as he recalls his recent collaboration with Leon Bridges at Monterey Pop Festival. Bridges welcomed Josh Tillman on stage for a finale of “Mississippi Kisses” along with Nathaniel Rateliff and the singer had some high praise for his counterpart after that.
Lenon Bridges is the shit and “The River” is a boba fide, dyed in the wool modern day mother fucking classic

For his part, Bridges responded to thank Tillman and call him a “legend.”
Elsewhere in Father John Misty’s orbit is this cover of U2’s “Beautiful Day” with nothing but bongos and a piano. Bono would be proud.
