Day Seven

As I write this, I’m in the van with the bros in Royal Southern Brotherhood and our driver heading back to the hotel after our final performance at the Byron Bay Blues Festival.

I’m listening to Cyril Neville tell a story about him and Bono of U2 backstage on the Amnesty International tour. I’m hearing my brothers laugh. I love the sound of their laughter. I love playing music with them. They are my close friends and inspire me …to be a better me. Personally and musically.

We came to Australia to play our music and leave our mark down under. To have a chance to spread our vibes here in a land where good vibes are ubiquitous has been a huge blessing. And know what ? We fit right in. The Aussies are laid back, quick to smile, just the right amount of sarcasm, and fun loving.

I’ve toured in almost 30 countries….and this one is my favorite. We will now come yearly as we’ve been invited back and will also include New Zealand. The crowd was nuts , man.

After the show I had a meal right next to Bonnie Raitt. What a class act & total sweetheart. Her voice just melts me.

I watched Paul Simon play “You Can Call Me Al”. I looked up at the sky to find the southern cross. The stars in the Southern Hemisphere are completely different stars than what we see back home in the USA.
I looked at those stars and thanked the creator. For everything. For music, my family, my brothers, and the stars themselves. I am feeling the natural euphoria of spreading my wings to new horizons, of becoming my dreams, and of a brotherhood becoming closer as friends and tighter as a band.

Will drive to Brisbane tomorrow. Then fly to LA, then Dallas , then home to St.Louis. This tour journal has been my pleasure to keep & truly honored that Relix took the exclusive on it and happy that my publicists Jill and Mark helped relay all the pics and journal entries.

Thank you for coming down under with me…. This is the part where you say “No worries mate !”

G’day
