David Bowie Further Proves His Greatness with Impersonations of Springsteen, Lou Reed, Tom Waits and More
David Bowie really was the greatest, wasn’t he? You already knew that, but this six-minute recording of Bowie having some fun in between takes during a 1985 studio session will further cement that.
The tape, which was uploaded by record producer Mark Saunders, who worked with Bowie at Westside Studios in London during the time Bowie was recording the theme for Absolute Beginners, finds the singer fucking around with his impersonations of Bruce Springsteen, Iggy Pop, Lou Reed, Tom Waits and many others. The giggly Bowie really seems to get a kick out of the whole thing, as he sings the same verse in the style of the various singers.
